Known errors reported by ErrorTrap :

Contained here are the various types of logs reported by ErrorTrap (and sometimes my other mods).

Each log type is denoted by a unique snippet of code, which can used to identify them.

For example:
Sims3.Gameplay.Skills.Tattooing+TattooArtist:StartRole ()

The above denotes a line in the "ScriptError" file that should be easily recognizable.

NOTE: If you are having issues opening the log files, right click on the file, use the Open With, and open the file in Notepad.

If a resolution is known and available, it will be noted after the error.

For errors that have no resolution, they are normally minor and can be ignored.

If you do not fully understand the error, or it is occurring repeatedly, then you are encouraged to post it on the ErrorTrap Issues page.

Not Actually Error Logs

anchor: Export Genealogy
0 HEAD
1 GEDC
2 VERS 5.5

This is a GEDCOM log file created by MasterController's "Export Genealogy". Rename the file's extension to ".gedcom" and load it into your favorite family tree application.

anchor: Dereferencing
-- Dereferencing --
Destroyed Object Found: Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim (Natalie MacKinnon)

Dereferencing is performed by ErrorTrap to remove previously deleted objects from your save-game. Once unlinked by the mod, the objects will stop being saved to your save-file, reducing save size and improving load times.

The logs are normally only displayed when ErrorTrap locates a bad link that it is unable to resolve, otherwise the mod performs the work silently, without informing you.

If the log contains the words "UNHANDLED" or "OPEN ENDED" in them, you should post it for my review.
  • A list of known unhandled dereferences are listed here : ErrorTrap Dereferencing
  • If you wish you can compare your log to this list and see whether there are any new ones to report. Or just post the log and the developer will check for you.

NOTE: If the log only contains the names of sims and nothing else, the mod is simply informing you that in the previous play-session, the game deleted the named sims for some reason or other.
  • If any of the sims are of interest to you, it may be a good idea to check up on them in game and see if they were recovered properly.

anchor: Correction
-- Correction Logs --
SimDescription Removed: Madison VanWatson
Out of World Object Found 2: Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Vehicles.CarUsed2
Destroyed Object Found: Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.CookingObjects.FryingPan
Destroyed: Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Vehicles.CarUsed2 (ID=0x295a0050902f9a00)

"SimDescription Removed"
  • The result of the dereferencing system in ErrorTrap locating an unnecessary copy of a sim and removing them from the game.
  • The various processes used to eliminate sims from the game do not necessarily remove all reference to that sim from the save.
    • For instance : Deleting a sim by leaving them in the clipboard in Edit Town will leave references to that sim attached to relationships, paintings, inventions, and a myriad of other obscure locations.
    • MasterController's "Total Annihilation" does a better job, however it too does not remove all reference to the sim from your game.
  • The process will never delete a resident sim, nor any sim whose urnstone still exists in town.

"Out of World Object Found"
  • The mod located an object that was no longer part of the world : It was not available in the world, in any inventory, or attached to any system of the game.
  • Since the object was totally inaccessible, it was deleted and removed.
  • These are normally found in logs followed by a "Destroyed" line.

"Destroyed Object Found"
  • The mod located an object that was deleted from the game in the previous game-session, prior to you saving.
  • The object was retained by an improper reference that forced the game to save the unnecessary object into your save-file.
  • The mod is informing you that steps were taken to remove the references, and allow the object to vanish into non-existence.

"Destroyed"
  • The mod deleted an object from your game.
  • Normally there is good reason for the deletion (such as the object is inaccessible in game).
  • Note that ErrorTrap is not perfect. If you believe the object was deleted in error, you should bring it to the attention of the developer.

anchor: Bogus Inventory Item
-- Correction Logs --
Sims3.Gameplay.SharedFamilyInventory Bogus Inventory Item dropped

"Bogus Inventory Item" logs are the result of ErrorTrap locating an object that is supposed to be in an inventory, but the inventory itself has been removed from the game. Normally this is the result of cleanup due to CAW errors in custom worlds, however it will also occur during regular play as well.

The log means that ErrorTrap cleaned up the corruption, and either moved the orphaned object to a new inventory, or simply removed it from the game.

anchor: Fix Outfits
-- Fix Outfit Logs --
Outfits Recovered: Rick Nettles

"Fix Outfits" logs occur when ErrorTrap locates a sim with a "Broken Outfit". The mod will attempt to rebuild the outfit automatically, and then logs the correction for your review.

There are three types of fixes:
  • Recovered - The clothing for the sim has changed, but the genetics were successfully recovered
  • Reinherited - The genetics for the sim was reolled using the genetics from the sim's parents
  • Rerolled - The genetics were not available for recovery, and were completely randomized

If the sim is of interest to you, you may want to track them down and ensure they were properly re-added to the game.

anchor: Recover Missing
-- Recover Missing Logs --

"Recover Missing" informs you that the following resident sims were found to be missing in your game, and were re-added.

If the sim is of interest to you, you may want to track them down and ensure they were properly re-added to the game.

Resolvable Logs

anchor: Bar Advanced
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Counters.BarAdvanced:EnqueueInteractionAndWait

One reason for this error is from issues arising from alterations made to these objects during the Island Paradise Patch.

Due to backwards compatibility issues, any existing "Professional Bar" objects should be replaced with new copies.
  • The error log should contain the name of the lot on which the problem object resides.

anchor: Imaginary Doll
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Miscellaneous.ImaginaryDoll:ChangePose

This error occurs when an Generations imaginary friend doll is left in a mailbox somewhere in town.

Usually this happens when you switch households without first removing the doll.
  • So locating the doll is normally just a matter of retracing your recent household switches until you locate the mailbox containing the doll.

Once the doll is removed from the mailbox inventory, the error should stop.

anchor: EA Tattoo Artist
Sims3.Gameplay.Skills.Tattooing+TattooArtist:StartRole ()

Known as an "EA Tattoo Artist" error. This occurs when the game is unable to properly set the tattoo uniform on the role sim assigned to the Tattoo Chair object in your town.

To resolve it, remove the Tattoo Chair object.

anchor: SocialData
Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing.Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing.Conversation:FindResponseForSim

This is normally the result of an improperly written EA "SocialData" tuning mod.

If you are indeed running a mod of that nature, take note of the interaction being run (it will be noted a couple lines above the coding block), and bring it to the attention of the tuning mod's creator.

anchor: SocialData 2
Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing.Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing.Conversation:FindMostSuitableRule

This is a "SocialData" error, usually caused by having an incompatible "SocialData" tuning mod installed.

Verify that all your mods are up-to-date and compatible with your Patch-Level.

anchor: Hang With Coworkers
Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.Sims3.Gameplay.Careers.HangWithCoworkersTone:OnTimePassed
Known as a "Hang with Coworkers" error.

There is an EA error that can occur during the use of this career tone, which will bounce everyone in a rabbithole out of work whenever a coworker is deleted from the game.

The effect is temporary, and the sims should return to work on their own eventually.

anchor: Duplicate Relationship
System.ArgumentException: An element with the same key already exists in the dictionary.
Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing.Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing.Relationship:GetMiniRelationships
This is known as a "Duplicate Relationship" error.

They commonly occur after vacationing, when the game fails to remove the original copy of your sim left in the hometown, after your travel copy returns home.

Installing Overwatch has been known to correct this issue.

anchor: Broken Outfit
System.NullReferenceException: GlobalFunctions.CreateObject: Object was created but unable to get proxy. Possibly the medator instance is specifiying a script that does not exist.

Sims3.Gameplay.Sims3.Gameplay.GlobalFunctions:GetInitializedScriptObject
This is known as the "Broken Outfit" error.

The reasons for why it occurs are unknown, however it is a serious error that should be resolved immediately.

Using DebugEnabler's "Fix Invisible Sims" interaction from the City Hall menu is usually the appropriate solution. Note that though the mod will attempt to recover the genetics for the sim, the reroll process may be forced to randomize your sim's genetics.

If DebugEnabler fails to repair your sim, it may be necessary to use MasterController's "Total Annihilation" to remove them from the game.

anchor: Broken Outfit 2
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Miscellaneous.Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Miscellaneous.ImaginaryDoll:MakeLive
Another form of "Broken Outfit" error.

This error occurs when the outfit for your imaginary friend is broken. Try running DebugEnabler's "Fix Invisible Sims" from the City Hall menu. It should locate and correct that sim's outfits.

anchor: Broken Outfit 3
Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim:GetThumbnailKey ()
This is another "Broken Outfit" error. This one generally occurs when one sim attempts to create a thought balloon containing another sim's portrait. If that sim is lacking a valid Everyday outfit, the process will fail.

This appears to occur predominantly with imaginary friends and their owners, usually after an age-up has occurred.

You can probably fix it by using DebugEnabler's "Fix Invisible Sims" from the City Hall menu.

anchor: EA Role Manager
Sims3.Gameplay.Roles.Sims3.Gameplay.Roles.RoleManagerTask:FillForeignRole
This is a "EA Role Manager" error. In this particular case, the game is attempting to add to your town's Tourist or Explorer population and is failing.

Installing Register will correct this issue.

anchor: EA Role Manager
Sims3.Gameplay.Roles.RoleData:GetRolesForWorld
This is a "EA Role Manager" error. In this particular case, the game is attempting to determine which roles are necessary for your world and is failing.

Installing Register will correct this issue.

anchor: EA Role Manager
Sims3.Gameplay.Roles.Role:CreateRole
This is a "EA Role Manager" error. In this particular case, the game is attempting to create a new role and was probably unable to instantiate the chosen sim.

Installing Register may correct this issue.

anchor: Foreign Join
Sims3.Gameplay.Moving.Sims3.Gameplay.Moving.GameplayMovingModel:BuildForeignHousehold
This EA error occurs when you ask a foreign sim to join your household. I will call this the "Foreign Join" error.

If it occurs, you are best served using the "Add To Family" Shift-Click cheat interaction to add the sim to your family.

anchor: Mailbox Gift
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Misc.Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Misc.Gift:CreateGiftAndPutInInventory
Known as the "Mailbox Gift" error. This error occurs when the sim which gave the gift is no longer available in town.

It is possible that StoryProgression, Overwatch, or another homeless cleanup mod removed the sim after they granted you the gift.

If you are unable to receive your mail because of the issue, use the "View Inventory" interaction available in DebugEnabler to gain access to the contents, and remove the gift that way.

anchor: Genealogy
Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim:get_BabiesAndToddlersIAmCurrentlyResponsibleFor
This is normally the result of an issue with "Genealogy".

Within that routine, the game tests to see whether the sim is related to any of the children on the lot, and in doing so, will bust if the genealogy is corrupt for the sim.

Installing Overwatch will usually correct the error, or try running "Cleanup Genealogy" manually.

anchor: Genealogy
Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing.Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing.LongTermRelationship:RelationshipIsInappropriate
This is a "Genealogy" error, where a sim's genealogy does not contain a proper reference to it's owner sim.

Install Overwatch, and it will automatically clean up the issue the next time you reload the game.
  • If you already have the mod installed, run the "Immediate \ Cleanup Genealogy" manually.

anchor: Genealogy
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.DreamsAndPromises.DreamsAndPromisesDelegateFunctions:HaveNFriendsOrBetterMajorDreamCheckFunction
This is a "Genealogy" error, where one of the sim's you know has a broken or missing Genealogy. In this case, the Dreams Manager is attempting to determine whether you have satisfied a particular wish, and is unable to do so.

Install Overwatch, and it will automatically clean up the issue the next time you reload the game.
  • If you already have the mod installed, run the "Immediate \ Cleanup Genealogy" manually.

anchor: Genealogy
Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing.Genealogy:IsFatherSideUncle
This is a "Genealogy" error, where one of the sims in your family tree has a broken or missing genealogy object.

Install Overwatch, and it will automatically clean up the issue the next time you reload the game.
  • If you already have the mod installed, run the "Immediate \ Cleanup Genealogy" manually.

anchor: Visit Community Lot
System.StackOverflowException: The maximum stack depth for the interpreter has been exceeded.

Sims3.Gameplay.Core.Sims3.Gameplay.Core.VisitCommunityLot:Run ()
Called the "Visit Community Lot" error, it involves sims bouncing while grouping up to visit a community lot.

An EA error added by Generations. It is minor, and can be corrected by installing GoHere.

anchor: Ingredients
Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.OccultImaginaryFriend+ImaginaryFriendEat:Run
This is an "Ingredients" error. So called as it is caused by having an incompatible "Ingredients" or "Fishing" tuning mod installed.

To fix this issue, locate the tuning mod and replace it with a version that is compatible with your Patch-Level.

anchor: Electronic Gate
Sims3.Gameplay.Core.Sims3.Gameplay.Core.Lot:CanVisitCelebrityLot
An "Electronic Gate" error. This occurs when there is an unoccupied residential lot in your town, containing an "Electronic Gate" object.

Find the lot and either remove the object, or move a family onto the lot.

anchor: Nectar Rack
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Decorations.NectarRack+TasteNectar:Init
A "Nectar Rack" error, caused by having an empty nectar rack on a community lot.

The lot is listed in the error log, find the object on that lot and either add a nectar bottle to it, or remove the rack entirely.

anchor: Test Bar Brawl
Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing.Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing.SocialTest:TestBarBrawl
The Late Night "Test Bar Brawl" error. This error is caused by a role sim being created without a proper Genealogy, and promptly bouncing all autonomy tests in the game.

It is correctable by installing Overwatch.

anchor: Store Pet Skill
Sims3.Gameplay.Skills.Sims3.Gameplay.Skills.SkillManager:GetPetSkillFatigueRate ()

The "Pet Store Skill" error, caused by an error in EA coding which wipes out the fatigue rates for pet skills whenever an EA Store skill is installed.

It is correctable by installing Overwatch, or by patching to Patch 1.29.

anchor: Claim Ownership

Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Beds.BedMultiPart:ClaimOwnership

A "Claim Ownership" error. This error occurs when the sim involved has a partner who is currently in hibernation. When the sim attempts to sleep in a double bed, the game attempts to set the ownership of the bed for the partner as well, and fails to do so. This can happen if the partner is at boarding school, off on a free vacation, a buried dead haunting ghost, or a homeless sim.

To resolve the issue, direct the sim to sleep in a single bed instead, until the partner returns to the game.

anchor: Buffs

Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Miscellaneous.ImaginaryDoll:PrePlayWith

A "Buffs" error. This particular error is caused by the game being unable to locate the "CuddleTimeImaginaryDoll" buff, usually due to a broken EA tuning mod you have installed.

To resolve the issue, locate and either remove or replace any incompatible "Buffs" related tuning mods you have installed.

anchor: Walk Style

Sims3.Gameplay.Routing.SimWalkStyleRules:RandomWeightedPetWalkStyle
OR
Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.SimRoutingComponent:RequestWalkStyle

A "Walk Style" error. This particular error is the result of having a broken "WalkStyle" related tuning mod installed.

To resolve the issue, locate and either remove or replace any incompatible "WalkStyle" related tuning mods you have installed.

anchor: Broken Doll

Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.OccultImaginaryFriend:RetrieveDoll

This error occurs when an Imaginary Doll is deleted from the game, leaving the service sim associated with the doll stranded.

The name of the imaginary friend sim is listed in the error log, you will need that name for later.

To stop the error, do one of the following :
  • Remove the "Imaginary Friend" status off the sim in question
    1. Install MasterController and MasterController Cheats
    2. Click on the City Hall, and navigate the menu : "NRaas \ Master Controller \ Sim \ Intermediate \ Occult"
    3. Locate the sim in the listing, and select them
    4. When prompted, change their occult status to "None"
OR
  • Delete the sim outright
    1. Install MasterController and MasterController Cheats
    2. Click on the City Hall, and navigate the menu : "NRaas \ Master Controller \ Sim \ Advanced \ Total Annihilation"
    3. Locate the sim in the listing, and select them

anchor: Recipe

Sims3.Gameplay.Skills.Cooking:AddRecipe

This is a "Recipe" error, caused by having a "Recipe" or "Ingredient" related tuning mod installed that is not compatible with your Patch Level.

To resolve the issue, locate and either remove or replace any incompatible tuning mods you have installed.

anchor: BedClaim

Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Beds.BedMultiPart:ClaimOwnership

The most common reason for this error is the result of a sim being partnered with a hibernating sim and then directed to sleep in a double bed. When the game attempts to assign the partner to the bed, the interaction bounces.

To correct the issue, simply have the sim in question sleep in a single bed until their partner returns to the game.

anchor: Writing

Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Electronics.Computer:FinalizeWriting

The most common reason for this error is the sim mentioned in the log is writing a book that has the same title as a book that already exists in your town.

To correct the issue, simply scrap the book, and start a new one with a distinctly unique title.

anchor: Gift

Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Misc.WeddingGift:PostGiftTransferToSim

This error occurs when your sim attempts to get the mail from a mailbox. It is caused by the sim that originally sent the gift no longer existing in your town.

To correct the issue :
  1. Install DebugEnabler
  2. Click on the mailbox and navigate the menu : "NRaas \ Debug Enabler \ Options: Mailbox \ View Inventory"
  3. Remove the gifts from the mailbox using the inventory interface

anchor: Career Outfit

Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim+SwitchOutfitHelper:Init (Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim,Sims3.SimIFace.CAS.OutfitCategories,int)

A "Career Outfit" error, caused by the ShowTime code attempting to use a career outfit that your sim does not have available.

If the sim is the active sim, simply switch into their career outfit before you perform the interaction.

If the sim is an inactive sim, take them into CAS and add another career outfit to them.
  • Note that this is also a valid solution for active sims

In addition, Overwatch has a correction process that runs on loadup to fix this issue.

anchor: GetIntensity
Sims3.Gameplay.Autonomy.MetaAutonomyTuning:GetIntensity

There are two forms of this error:

One is an "Autonomy" error. The source of this one is unknown, since it is considerably rarer than the others mentioned above. However the error is transitory, and corrects itself.
  • It is a non-issue, and can be safely ignored.

The other form is caused by having a sim that has greater than Level 5 in Celebrity, or a broken tuning mod installed.
  • This one is denoted by "System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Argument is out of range." which appears at the top of the stack trace.

  • If you are encountering this form of the error, you must locate the sim and reset their "Celebrity Level" back to "5" or less.
    • Use MasterController Cheats, "Intermediate \ Celebrity Level" to do so, with a filter of "Celebrity Level" to locate the errant sim.
Or
  • Locate and replace/remove the broken "Venues" tuning mod that you have installed.

anchor: Celebrity
Sims3.Gameplay.CelebritySystem.CelebrityManager:GetCurrentLevelStaticData

This is a celebrity level error, where one of your sims has a level exceeding the maximum value specified by your setup's tuning.

You must locate the sim and reset their "Celebrity Level" back to "5" or less.
  • Use MasterController Cheats, "Intermediate \ Celebrity Level" to do so, with a filter of "Celebrity Level" to locate the errant sim.

anchor: Unicorns
Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.OccultUnicorn:UnicornMagicPointTest

This is caused by having a pre-ShowTime unicorn in your town.
  • When EA updated the magic system for Genies, they failed to update pre-existing unicorn occults, producing the error.

To correct the issue, you must remove the unicorn occult from all sims in town and replace them with new copies.

Steps :
  1. Install MasterController and MasterController Cheats
  2. From the City Hall, navigate the menu "NRaas \ Master Controller \ Sim \ Intermediate \ Occult"
  3. Use a filter of "Occult Type" - "Unicorn"
  4. You will receive a list of all the unicorns in your town, make a note of their names, you will need them later
  5. Select all the unicorns in the listing, and apply the "None" occult option to them.
  6. Again, from the City Hall, navigate the menu "NRaas \ Master Controller \ Sim \ Intermediate \ Occult"
  7. Use a filter of "Species" - "Horse"
  8. Locate the former unicorns in the list and select them.
  9. Apply the "Unicorn" occult choice to them.

anchor: Metal Smelting
Sims3.Gameplay.Skills.Collecting:IncreaseIngotsCreatedForMetal

This is caused by trying to smelt a metal that you have not yet collected from the ground.
  • After EA's recent changes to the Collecting skill, you will need to have first collected a type of metal from the ground before the Collection Journal can be properly updated.

To correct the issue, either:
  • Install Overwatch, which will automatically correct the issue
  • Or find and collect the type of metal you're trying to smelt from the ground prior to smelting.

anchor: Dream
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.DreamsAndPromises.DreamsAndPromisesDelegateFunctions:HaveNPlantsCheckFunction

This is an error with one of the promised or unpromised dreams that one of your sims is currently hosting.
  • When the game attempts to validate completion of the dream, the system fails, bouncing your sim.

To correct the issue :
  • Install Dreamer, which will catch script errors in the dream system and silence them.
  • Or switch households to restart the dream manager for your sims (this only works if the error involves an active sim)

anchor: Dream
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.DreamsAndPromises.DreamsAndPromisesDelegateFunctions:StartSnubCheckFunction

This is an error with one of the promised or unpromised dreams that one of your sims is currently hosting.
  • When the game attempts to validate completion of the dream, the system fails, bouncing your sim.

To correct the issue :
  • Install Dreamer, which will catch script errors in the dream system and silence them.
  • Or switch households to restart the dream manager for your sims (this only works if the error involves an active sim)

anchor: Consignment
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Register.PotionShopConsignmentRegister:GetValueOfSale

This is a consignment error regarding the Supernatural Elixir shop.
  • It is the same error incurred with the Ambitions consignment shop. When EA copied the system over, they also copied the errors.

To fix the issue, install Overwatch.
  • The mod will automatically correct the consignment system during loadup.

anchor: Sauna
Sims3.Store.Objects.SaunaClassic:OnStartup

This is most likely an EA Premium Content error, involving the ccmerged.package stored in your DCBackup folder.

When you install EA content, it sometimes alters that package to include new moodlet, recipe or skill tuning.
  • If the process fails, it can leave the package with only part of the required information.

To correct the issue, read these instructions : http://nonasims.wordpress.com/2012/05/17/dcbackup-ccmerged-package-and-your-premium-content-items/

anchor: Routing
Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.SimRoutingComponent:DoRoute

A "Routing" error, caused by an error in the EA routing code that governs the movement of sims through the game environment.
  • This particular issue is fairly common, unfortunately the error log never points to the cause, only one of the symptoms.

If it is only occurring "every so often" then the reset that normally follows the script error will correct that sim.
  • However, installing GoHere may alleviate the issue, and allow your sim to continue routing without the need of a reset.

If the error continues to recur on a specific lot or location, you may want to consider reviewing the lot for improper routing, or move objects around to make it simpler for sims to create routes on the lot.

Unresolvable Self-Correcting Logs

These errors are automatically corrected when the sim is reset by ErrorTrap. However there is currently no means of stopping them from recurring.

anchor: Routing
Sims3.Gameplay.Routing.VehicleScriptAdaptor:PostRoute

A general "Routing Error". Routing errors are quite common, and tend to be essentially random in nature.

The sim involved in the error is normally reset back home after the error is encountered.

anchor: Skill Book
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.BookSkill:SkillLevelUpCallback (int)

Known as the "Skill Book" error. This error is caused by a sim improperly ending a skill book reading interaction. The error however occurs the next time the sim increases in *any* skill, not necessarily the one they were learning from the book.

anchor: Stuck In Hand
Interaction Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.PutBookDown left an object in the Sim's hand: Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.BookGeneral

A "Stuck in Hand" error. These usually occur when a sim is interrupted during an interaction and does not properly place the object in hand down.

This particular error is resolved when the sim is reset by ErrorTrap.

This error is considered "unresolvable" as there is no means to stop it from occurring again, even though the issue is resolved once it occurs.

Note: The Pets Patch broke a large swath of custom content with a change by EA to the slotting system.
  • EA promptly released a number of store content patches to correct their own content, but left third-party creators to correct their own content themselves.
  • The "Stuck in Hand" error is quite common with content that has not been properly fixed.
  • If the issue persists for a particular custom object you have installed, you should return to the creator for possible updates.

anchor: Update Buffs
Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.BuffManager:UpdateBuffs (single)

An error added with Generations, known as the "Update Buffs" error.

It is unknown why this error occurs. It is considered minor as it does not appear to occur very often, and is corrected when the sim is reset.

anchor: Autonomy
Sims3.Gameplay.Autonomy.Commodities:GetValue

A "Autonomy" error. This one occurs after a sim has a hard reset performed on them by either the use of "Reset" in MasterController, or by another mod such as ErrorTrap itself.

It is a non-issue, and can be safely ignored.

anchor: Autonomy
Sims3.Gameplay.Autonomy.Autonomy:get_IsSufficientlyOnScreenForHighLODSimulation

Another form of "Autonomy" error. This one occurs after a sim has a hard reset performed on them by either the use of "Reset" in MasterController, or by another mod such as ErrorTrap itself.

It is a non-issue, and can be safely ignored.

anchor: Conversation
Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing.Conversation:RemoveSim

A "Conversation" error, so called because it occurs when two sims are conversing. The most likely reason for the fail is one of the sims in the conversation was hibernated. Haunting sims returning to the grave do this, as do sims that were deleted by another game system.

The sim resets when the error occurs, and should continue normally after that.

anchor: Injection
Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.InteractionQueue:HasInteractionOfType

This is an "Interaction Injection" error. EA corrected the more serious form of this issue after they started distributed premium content, however there is a similar though minor error that can still occur.

Interaction injection errors occur when an interaction provided by custom/premium content is uninstalled. A link to the interaction is left in the save-game, which produces the given error.

This error is automatically corrected when the sim is reset by ErrorTrap. Note, if another mod captured the error, the sim may not be reset. You may need to track them down and reset them manually.

anchor: Mailbox
Sims3.Gameplay.Core.Mailbox+GetMail+Definition:Test

This error is the result of saving and reloading a game while a sim has a "Get Mail" interaction queued. The game is unable to save this type of interaction, and as the result, it bounces after loadup.

Since the sim automatically drops queue when reset, this error is corrected automatically.

Unresolvable MINOR Logs

These errors tend to repeat until the user or fate intervenes. ErrorTrap is not capable of stopping these errors on its own.

They are considered minor because they normally vanish on their own, have a known method of correction, or can be corrected by a "Save As" and Reload.

anchor: Taxi Driver
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Vehicles.Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Vehicles.Taxi:CreateDriver

This EA error occurs when attempting to generate a carpool driver to use during routing of an active sim. Denoted as the "Taxi Driver" error.

If the issue continues to occur during a play-session, it is advised to simply Save and Reload. Doing so will flush the temporary NPCs used for routing, and replace them with new ones.

anchor: Rabbithole Entrance
Sims3.Gameplay.Abstracts.Sims3.Gameplay.Abstracts.RabbitHole:AnimateEnterRabbitHole

Called the "Rabbithole Entrance" error, it involves sims being unable to enter a rabbithole due to an animation or slotting error.

An EA error added by Generations. It is minor, and usually resolves itself.
  • If it persists, you may want to try resetting the rabbithole itself, or using MasterController to reset the entire lot.
  • If that does not work, you may need to replace the rabbithole with a new copy.

anchor: Klepto Work
Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.TraitFunctions:TraitKleptomaniacStealItemFromWork

This error occurs when a kleptomaniac sim attempts to steal something while at work.

An EA error. The only method to resolve it is to remove the Kleptomaniac trait from your sim, or change your sim's job to a non-rabbithole career.

anchor: Opportunity Immigration
Sims3.Gameplay.StoryProgression.Sims3.Gameplay.StoryProgression.CombinationAction:IsValid ()

This error is caused by StoryProgression.

When the Core game attempts to immigrate a new sim into town to satisfy the requirements of an Opportunity, StoryProgression blocks the immigration and fires the error.

There is no means to resolve this error, save dropping the Opportunity, or removing StoryProgression.

anchor: Dart Board
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.HobbiesSkills.Dartboard+TakeTurnThrowingDarts:Run ()

An EA error while interacting with a "Dart Board" object.

If the error persists, you may want to locate the lot mentioned in the error log, and use MasterController's "Reset Lot". If that fails, delete the object and replace it with a new copy.

Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Counters.Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Counters.BarProfessional:EnqueueInteractionAndWait

Pre-IP bar issue where the bars aren't initialized correctly. This is corrected with Overwatch 122 or greater.

You can also delete the object and replace it with a new copy.

anchor: Scoop Out
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Decorations.FishTank:RemoveAllDeadFish

A "Scoop Out" error.

EA broke the "Scoop Out" interaction on the Fish Tank object in the Generations Patch.

You will need to remove the dead fish using the "Inventory" interaction instead, or update to Patch 1.29.

anchor: Sit On Sim
Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Seating.SitOnSim:Run

A "Sit on Sim" error, caused when a pet attempts to sit on the lap of an inactive sim.

There is no known resolution for this issue.

anchor: Reset
Sims3.Gameplay.CAS.SimDescription:UpdateBodyShape

Suspected to be a "Reset" error, the result of a sim being hard-reset by a mod such as MasterController or ErrorTrap itself.

This particular error is still not yet fully understood however, so the true issue may still be unknown.
  • The issue is quite new, appearing with the introduction of the Pets Pack.

anchor: Is Allowed Through
Sims3.Gameplay.Abstracts.CommonDoor:IsAllowedThrough

This is a "Door Lock" error, which is caused when one of the doors you have locked gets corrupted.

To correct the error, you must locate the door causing the issue and unlock it.
  • After which you can lock it again.

anchor: Future Trait
#0 Sims3.Gameplay.GameStates:IsIdTravelling (ulong) ()
#1 Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim:GrantFutureObjects (bool) ()

This is due to EA never intending Sims outside of the future world to have the hidden "Future Sim" trait.

Remove it to correct the issue.

Sims3.Gameplay.Autonomy.Sims3.Gameplay.Autonomy.OverlayData:GetGenericStateMachine (Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim,bool,bool,bool,bool)
Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim:OnStartup ()

This is the in-game result of receiving a "Serious Error has Occurred" warning prompt while starting the game.

When you receive that prompt, it is best to exit the application, wait a couple of minutes, and then attempt to restart the game.

The reasons for receiving this message are unknown, though it appears to involve an startup error in the game-engine itself, and therefore cannot be resolved via mods.

If the issue continues to occur, and does not allow you to load the game *at all*, you may need to revert to an earlier save, or possibly reinstall the game from scratch.
