Relativity


The following additional interactions have been added to all clocks, computers and the City Hall in game:

  • Active Sim Factor: Minimum NEW
    • Used in conjunction with "Active Sim Factor: Reduction" to alter the relative speed based on the number of active sims currently being played.
    • This value determines the minimum number of active sims allowed in the household before the reduction kicks in.
    • The greater the number of sims over the minimum, the greater the reduction applied.
    • Default: 5

  • Active Sim Factor: Reduction NEW
    • Used in conjunction with "Active Sim Factor: Minimum" to alter the relative speed based on the number of active sims currently being played.
    • The value is a percent factor applied to the current speed value, as defined by "Intervals" or "Speed"
    • The factor is multiplied by the number of sims over the value specified in "Active Sim Factor: Minimum"
    • Default: 0

  • Apply Life Span Skill Factor
    • When enabled, a factor based on the current life-span, is added to all skill gain modifiers
    • This makes skill gain slower for life-spans longer than the normal 90 day span, and quicker for shorter ones
    • Default: False

  • Debugging
    • Enables the debugging in this mod.
    • Note: This option is best left to the developer, as it produces many notifications when enabled.
    • Default: False

  • Disable Temporarily
    • Temporarily resets the speed to the default 37.
    • This option is not persisted between play-sessions, and will reset the next time you reload the game.
    • Default: False

  • Intervals
    • Add New Interval
      • Adds a new speed interval to the listing
      • Intervals are sorted by the number of days specified, and then by their begin hour
    • Dump Speeds
      • Dumps the designated speed for each hour of each day of the week to a script log
      • Hidden by "Debugging" = "False"
    • (Each Interval)
      • Days
        • Specifies the days of the week for this interval
        • Default: All
      • Hour: Begin
        • Specifies the first hour of the interval
        • Values are in 24 hour format
        • Default: 0
      • Hour: End
        • Specifies the hour at which the interval ends. Entering 5 means the interval ends at 5am.
        • Values are in 24 hour format
        • Default: 24
      • Remove
        • Removes the interval from the listing
      • Set Speed
        • Specifies the speed at which to run the game during this interval
        • Default: 37

  • Motive Decay Factors NEW
    • Lists the primary decay motives, and allows you to specify a factor for each individually
    • Note: Decay values are not considered relative, and will decay based on the game clock
      • Entering a value greater than "1" will make the motive decrease faster
      • While entering a value lower than "1" will make the motive decrease slower
    • An option called (Add New Factor) is available to fine-tune the motives to particular sets of sims.
    • Default: 1

  • Motive Delta Factors
    • Lists the primary motives, and allows you to specify a factor for each individually
    • This value is over and above the normal factor applied by relative speed.
      • Entering a value greater than "1" will make the motive increase faster
      • While entering a value lower than "1" will make the motive increase slower
    • An option called (Add New Factor) is available to fine-tune the motives to particular sets of sims.
    • Default: 1

  • Only Count Humans During Sleep Checks NEW
    • Whether to ignore pets when deciding whether to automatically active "Skip" speed once everyone is asleep.
    • Note this can be used in conjunction with "Switch Speed On Fast" to change the relative speed while sleeping.
    • Default: False

  • Pause On Completion NEW
    • Determines whether the mod forces the game to pause once the active sim's queue empties.
    • Default: False

  • Relative Motives
    • Specifies which primary motives have the relative speed factor applied to them
    • Default: Bladder, Fun, Hunger, Hygiene, Social, Vampire Thirst

  • Relative Skills
    • Specifies which skills have the relative speed factor applied to them
    • Default: All

  • Reset Settings
    • Resets the settings in this mod back to their tuning defaults

  • Set Speed
    • Specifies an overriding speed at which to run the mod. This value overrides the Intervals settings.
    • Setting the value to 0 will set the mod back to using the intervals
    • The default EA Standard speed is "37".
      • Smaller values make the sim-day longer, while larger values make the sim-day shorter
      • The most popular speed setting for those using the mod is 19. Some prefer slightly different speeds (higher/lower).
    • Entering a negative number will stop the game-clock entirely
    • Default: 0 (Interval)

  • Show Notice
    • When disabled, the notice specifying a change in relative speed, will not appear.
    • Default: True

  • Skill Gain Factors
    • Lists all the skills, and allows you to specify a factor for each individually
    • This value is over and above the normal factor applied by relative speed.
      • Entering a value greater than "1" will make the skill increase faster
      • While entering a value lower than "1" will make the skill increase slower
    • Default: 1

  • Switch Speed On Fast NEW
    • Defines the speed at which to run the mod when the game switches to a faster speed-level
    • This value overrides all interval settings, and any value you have set in the "Speed" option
    • Note: A value of zero means the mod will not alter its own speed
    • Default: 0

    • Displays the version of this mod
