MOD


Module for Vector, containing two zombie related diseases: Rage and Scourge

You must have Supernatural installed for these diseases to work properly, since they make use of zombies, available only in that Expansion pack.

DOCUMENTATION


This module makes the EA Standard zombie infestation more virulent, but does not change how the zombies themselves act.
  • So if you see zombies heading off to work, that is to be expected, and is not the purview of this mod to change.

Note that not all zombies you see in the game will be disease-ridden.
  • Those produced by the Lunar Cycle are the EA Standard variety, and though can convert you into a zombie, will not infect you with a Vector disease.

Note that Scourge can replace the permanent zombie moodlet used by Rage, ending that disease prematurely.
  • Be aware of the conflict if you attempt to use both diseases at the same time.

Rage


This disease has a lethal component, which you may want to adjust prior to enabling

This disease operates in the following manner:
  1. The sim is immediately infected with the Perma-Zombie moodlet
  2. The sim is checked to see whether the moodlet took effect
    • Note that some sims are naturally immune to zombification, such as children
    • If the zombification took hold, the disease enters a Contagious period
    • If the effect did not take hold, the disease checks for resistance, step 4
  3. A contagious period lasting until the sim is no longer a zombie
    • During this period, the sim will change lots and engage in autonomous "Braaaiiins" social interactions in an effort to spread the disease
    • If the sim is cured, the disease moves to a Resisted stage, step 6
  4. A Resistance test is performed to determine whether a sim will die of the disease
    • Resistance is tested against the strength of the disease
    • The "Reduced Lethality" setting is also checked
    • If either check succeeds, the disease moves to the Carrier stage, step 5
    • If the check fails, the sim will be pushed to die horribly
  5. A carrier stage, where the sim is not a zombie but is still contagious
    • This stage lasts 6 to 12 hours
    • Unlike the Contagious stage, the sim does not feel the need to autonomously search for new victims
    • After which a test against resistance is performed
      • If successful, the disease moves to the Resisted stage, Step 6
      • Other the disease returns to step 1
  6. Resisted
    • The sim is no longer contagious, but can be infected again at any time

Scourge


This disease is incurable, and relapses periodically once infected

This disease operates in the following manner:
  1. The sim is immediately infected with the Perma-Zombie moodlet
    • The duration of the zombie moodlet is 1440 sim-minutes, or one sim-day
  2. The sim is checked to see whether the moodlet took effect
    • Note that some sims are naturally immune to zombification, such as children
    • If the zombification took hold, the disease enters a Contagious period
    • If the effect did not take hold, the disease checks for Remission, step 4
  3. A contagious period lasting until the sim is no longer a zombie
    • During this period, the sim will change lots and engage in autonomous "Braaaiiins" social interactions in an effort to spread the disease
    • Once the sim is cured, the disease moves to a Remission stage, step 4
  4. A Remission stage where the sim is not contagious but suffers from the chills
    • This stage last for 5 to 10 sim-days
    • Once complete, the diseases returns to step 1
